Go Magic!

Let's give it up to our hometown team, the Orlando Magic! Our boys were able to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-2 in the Eastern Conference Championship. Bring on the Los Angeles Lakers!

The Cleveland Cavaliers led the league with 66 wins in the regular season. This amazing season was highlighted with their head coach receiving the "Coach of the Year" award and their star player, LeBron James, taking home the MVP trophy.

The Orlando Magic suffered from inconsistent play throughout the year. The inconsistency is not unexpected as this team thrives from beyond the 3 point arc. However, they showed the same mental and physical toughness in this series in the same way they dominated the Boston Celtics in the last two games of the previous round.

The Magic were able to take advantage of the favorable match-ups with the Cavaliers. Cleveland had plenty of difficulty in trying to contain Dwight Howard. Whenever the Cavs tried to send help inside to handle Howard, the Magic's outside shooters punished Cleveland with long range bombs. The Magic's high scoring forwards exploited their size advantage over their smaller defenders and coach Stan Van Gundy made the correct adjustments at the right times.

Surprisingly, this was a very lopsided series. The Magic were clearly the better team. Even more surprising, was the way Lebron James handled the end of the game. He did not bother to shake hands with the winning team. I can understand that he didn't address the media in his angered state, but even little leaguers know to shake hands and congratulate the opponents after a game...

Oh well, on to the Finals! Beat L.A.! LET'S GO MAGIC!
