Wet N Wild Review
Submitted by rgserv on Mon, 08/10/2009 - 12:52
This weekend, my cousins were in Orlando for vacation and we all decided to check out the Wet N Wild water park. There were 15 people in our party ages ranging from 16 - 27 years old. We had a blast! With its generous offerings of thrill rides, this water park is constantly rated one of America's top water parks. My cousins wanted to check it out because they saw it featured on the travel channel. After reading the online reviews for this water park, my wife and I decided to leave our 6 1/2 month infant with his grandmother for the day. My wife and I did not get a chance to do everything we wanted to do at Typhoon Lagoon and Aquatica when we brought the little one. This time, we expected to do ALL of the thrills that this park has to offer. One of my favorite perks about Wet N Wild is that they will allow you to bring a cooler full of food and drinks into the park. We loaded up on ice, water bottles, soda, sandwiches, and my wife cooked some spectacular adobo beef and rice. It would be a fair to estimate ~$10-13 savings per person on food and beverages. However we did not spend too much time eating at the tables, we spent more time standing in lines and walking around the park. This is a very different type of water park from Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and Aquatica. Comparatively, the themes and decor found throughout the park is lacking at Wet N Wild. The lush landscaping found at the other water parks are replaced with imposing concrete and steel. What Wet N Wild lacks in "ambiance", it MORE than makes up for in thrills. Fortunately, our party was able to try all the thrill rides. Here's a quick summary from my perspective: (in thrilling order) Wet N Wild has more thrill rides than any other park (including the theme parks) in Orlando. Even the kids-only attraction "Bubble Up" looked so much fun that I was begging the attendant to let us play king of the hill American Gladiator style. We were denied. Overall, I would recommend Wet N Wild strictly to thrill seekers. I do not recommend this park for families with children shorter than 48 inches. Also, I do not recommend Wet N Wild for the faint of heart. Wet N Wild is a very practical park that offers plenty of excitment for the thrill seeking crowd. |
